Do you think you can be in love with someone and still care/have feelings for someone else?

Let’s say you “want to spend the rest of your life with someone” and you try to end your “friendship” with someone else that you’ve been in a relationship with on a few different occasions. This “friend” lives 4 hours away and you see them every once in a while. You talk to them on the phone daily along with replying to journal entries, comment to photo’s, art work, etc… You tried to end your “friendship” with this person because you want to marry the person you want to spend your life with, but can’t because that other person that lives 4 hours away means a lot to you and you love them.

Can someone have feelings for two different people like that? How would YOU deal?Do you think you can be in love with someone and still care/have feelings for someone else?
Yes, I believe this is very possible. There is more than one person in the sea for everybody and it is possible to like two people at the same time like that. You feel like the right thing to do is to end the friendship, but you can't becuase they are such a big part of your life. So what do you do? First, you can try talking to them about it and see what they recommend. Second, you can try talking to the person you want to be with forever and see how they feel. However, it is absolutly necessary to discard your feelings for this person otherwise it could wind up being a problem down the road.

On a personal note, I recently had to completely break a tie with a person I was extrememly close to. It was very difficult for me, and for months things weren't the same, and I don't think they ever will be exactly the same. But I have moved on, and I am still happy and can live my life better than before. You can too. Just know, that whatever you do, is for the best. And don't have any regrets, because life is to short to be regretful because everything you regret is something that you wanted to do in the first place.

(sorry, I just realized I keep saying ';you'; but your question was not written in this manner)

Good luck (:
